Destiny Rising, a new mobile sci-fi shooter based on Bungie's popular PC and Console series Destiny just kicked off its Closed Alpha today. Developed by Netease, players will assume the roll of 11 different Lightbearers from now until December 5th. If you haven't been selected yet, there's still time to join.
Fans of Destiny who are in the U.S. and Canada will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in the Closed Alpha before it eventually opens up worldwide. In order to be selected you'll need to pre-register, which will include filling out a Closed Alpha survey which will be the primary way you'll be selected. If you signed up already based on our previous coverage, check your inbox (and maybe your spam folder) for an invite.
So, what's actually in the Closed Alpha? It’s actually pretty packed for such an early look. You’ll get to play through the prologue of the main campaign, and take control of 11 different Lightbearers. You will get to experience a social hub called The Haven and an open world area called Jiangshi Metro that you'll be able to explore, alongside two Haven Ops strike missions, three public events, and the dreaded Gauntlet which is a six-player raid-like mode.
The #DRCA has officially begun! Selected players in USA & Canada will have received an email with instructions to follow for participating in the #DestinyRising Closed Alpha. Find out more about what's included in the DRCA and its end date: ?? https://t.co/yz4e1OozJ5 pic.twitter.com/tgYJS3b4W0

Detailed in their latest article, they mention new game modes like Morgran’s Prey, The Realm of the IX, Legacy, and Shifting Gates that they hope players will test out alongside a bunch of more casual activities that they haven't specifically divulged.
The devs want to be clear that this Alpha is still early days, but it’s they’re asking players to jump in and share their thoughts and experiences through their Discord server.
