Destiny 2's long-awaited and much-anticipated expansion, The Final Shape, has launched today, and players are experiencing long queues to try to hop into the MMOFPS.

Billed as the final chapter in the long-running Light & Darkness SagaThe Final Shape has hit PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms, bringing Bungie's next installment to Destiny 2 players everywhere. In The Final ShapeDestiny 2 players are tasked with stopping the plans of the Witness, with players venturing after the villain into the heart of the Traveler itself, heading to a new destination, The Pale Heart.

Throughout their journey, players will wrangle the new Prismatic subclass, giving Guardians access to both the Light and Darkness and combining Arc, Solar, Stasis, Void, and Strand to create their own custom subclass. New Exotic class items also give each player more tools in their arsenal to tackle the Witness and the villains' minions.

A new raid is coming this week, June 7th, with the rush to World First kicking off that day. The winning team will earn World First title belts and a player Title to showcase their achievement far and wide.

As with all live service games on launch day, Destiny 2's servers are being hammered as players are rushing to start the next phase of their journey. Steam alone is boasting over 272K concurrent playersat the time of writing, which is almost as high as its peak player count. According to the official Bungie Help account on Twitter, the developers are recommending players restart their game clients, or if you're on a console, the system altogether, to try to alleviate the issue.

Either way, this is a good problem for Bungie to have, especially after the last expansion, Lightfall, didn't do as well as Bungie had predicted, leading to layoffs over the last year.
