After weeks of streams, Bungie has released the latest update to Destiny 2, Into the Light, which is a free content update that introduces a new mode, weapons, and more.
The Into the Light update is teeming with new content for old and new players alike, as there are ways to play for literally any Guardian. Whether you prefer to do 100% everything on your own, be a team player, and are more interested in cooperative play, or if you want to get your hands on any simple and everything there is within Destiny 2, there is a playstyle and path for you.
The update is also completely free to download, which for Destiny 2 fans is a nice change from the usual pay to play content bundles or DLCs. There is also a new mode called Onslaught, which is a horde based mode that allows players to take on anywhere between 10 and 50 hordes of enemies as they build up their defenses throughout the mode.
Those who participate in this new mode have the ability to unlock 12 new weapons within the Brave Arsenal, which just so happen to be the best weapons available in the game currently. They each come with a set of perks to really amp up their power, and special editions of each of the new guns that can be unlocked through both Into the Light and the Final Shape content.
During Destiny 2: Into the Light, players will also have the opportunity to choose a starter kit that is loaded with handpicked gear and different subclass abilities, meaning this is the perfect time for new players to dive right in without feeling too far behind.
The Gift of the Thunder Gods kit is also available, which includes Exotic weapons, an Exotic armor piece, several Energy weapons and five Dreaming City Armor pieces, the base level of each being 1570, giving you an immediate leg up. This brings the player right up to gear matching those who have played for eons so no Guardian feels left behind.
