Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Returns March 13

Trials of Osiris returns to Destiny 2 as announced recently by Bungie.

Trials of Osiris returns on March 13th as part of the upcoming Destiny 2 season, Season of the Worthy. The player-favorite 3v3 pinnacle PvP is back with some of the favorite armors, weapons and maps from Destiny 1, such as Cauldron, Exodus Blue and Anomaly.

The reason, it seems, is player interest as outlined by Production Director Justin Truman,

“We kept hearing the players talking about it, we were also feeling it amongst ourselves, I can’t wait to bring back a version of the Trials that I actually remembered from Destiny 1.”

Elsewhere, the Director’s Cut addresses what the team wants to do in 2020, such as “core activities,” seasonal activities, the problem with weapons, combat, and more,

“In Destiny 2, with infusion, it’s like having every card you own in Magic available and playable in all formats forever. It passively creates power creep (an ongoing Destiny problem), which also means our teams need to spend more and more of their time re-testing and supporting old stuff instead of making new stuff, it reduces player desire for new items (which dismantles aspiration like the shard-the-blues post-Crucible match ritual), and it means we ultimately create a ton of gear that doesn’t have any value beyond ticking the box on the “I Got It” checklist.

That isn’t value. It’s actually the opposite of value, because it’s work that we could be putting into making new stuff, or improving old stuff.”
