In a surprising move, Bungie and Microsoft are bringing Destiny 2 to Gamepass. If you are a Gamepass subscriber you will get not only Destiny 2 along with the Shadowkeep and Forsaken DLC, but you will also have access to the upcoming Destiny 2: Beyond Light DLC as well.
In the announcement, Xbox Wire outlines everything that players can expect in the Beyond Light DLC, such as new weapons, gear, and content. Players will also have access to a new subclass, Stasis, and a whole new world to explore, the icy moon of Jupiter, Europa. For those looking for a bigger challenge, a new raid titled Deep Stone Crypt is sure to keep players embroiled in a difficult battle.
Destiny 2 will also be joining a list of games known as being “optimized for Xbox Series X” which boasts that Destiny 2 will be able to run at 4K and at 60 frames per second, seeing unparalleled console performance. It also supports cross-generation play and Smart Delivery, meaning that you’ll be able to play Destiny 2 no matter the console generation you’re on. Xbox Gamepass Ultimate subscribers will also have the ability to play Destiny 2 anywhere, thanks to Project xCloud, which will allow gamers to play anywhere, even on a phone or tablet. You can check out the entire release notice for more details.
As we know, Destiny 2: Beyond Light has been delayed, and while D2 will be available in September for Gamepass subscribers, Beyond Light will be available to all subscribers when it releases on November 10th. As we know Bungie has been hard at work with new DLC and patches coming down the pipe all the time, so for players looking to get into the game, Gamepass is a fantastic choice.
