The end of an era is coming.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is just around the corner, and Bungie has released a launch trailer that shows a battle of epic proportions on the way for Guardians.
Destiny 2 The Final Shape is the final expansion coming within the “Light and Darkness” saga, and this new launch trailer gives us a better idea as to what we can expect from The Witness as he infiltrates Earth. At the start of the trailer, we catch a glimpse of the “Stillness” that The Witness creates, where everything they touch turns into slices from within The Traveler.
The Traveler is this massive entity that made its home above Earth and gave the humans the power they needed within themselves to take down threats that loomed around their planet. Even so, we never really knew what was inside of that orb, but today, we know that the Pale Heart within the Traveler has been tainted by The Witness. The Light and the Dark collide within the Pale Heart, and it will be up to us as the Guardians to destroy the Dark created by The Witness before he can manipulate the Light into further threats and darkness.
As we learned in the ViDoc released by Bungie just last week, The Witness manipulates the world within the Pale Heart to be whatever he believes the Guardians want. The Witness brings us back to the beginning, where we see monuments and landmarks that we may have traversed back in the day throughout the Destiny expansions.
In the previous trailer, we learned that Cayde-6 has returned after his death during the Forsaken expansion, though currently how he did so is unclear. We will have to learn more and delve deep into the lore on June 4th when The Final Shape goes live.
