Bungie has some big Destiny 2 news coming, but most of it has to wait. In the same week that the acquisition of the company by Sony closed, there's a new date to keep an eye out for - August 23rd. A Destiny 2 Showcase will take place that day, and there’s just a little bit of what we might expect via a new teaser.
This teaser for the Destiny 2 Showcase happening that day, is called “No Escape” and it is brief, but also features much to consider, since it features moments from the Light and Darkness saga and should be familiar. The event itself will happen on the Bungie Twitch channel.
Also, despite how many times you might ask nicely, Bungie has already decided to set expectations by declaring no new info will be coming before then. So you’ll have to go over the teaser footage if you’d like, take in the narration, consider the past, and why those particular moments might be so prominent. Maybe you’ll figure out something to get you on the right track while Bungie is wholly focused on the current game and what’s here now, and in the immediate future.

Bungie is looking for players to submit Guardian profile videos that they plan to feature at the showcase. This could be any kind of memorable moment you’ve captured.
With Season 18 coming, Banshee-44 is getting some tweaks. This follows other changes to vendors in Destiny 2 that had previously been adjusted and will impact Gunsmith reputation, which feedback pegged as not up to par. Gunsmith reputation will get boosted for season 18, that should let players rank up Evo more easily.
These are some of the current and upcoming tweaks to expect, but expect them to be tight-lipped about the upcoming showcase. The good part is, if you’re anticipating big Destiny 2 news, it’s only just about a month away.
