Destiny 2: Into the Light will be out on April 9th for all players. The special two month content update will lead into The Final Shape’s launch. There’s also a Ghostbusters collaboration ready to haunt everyone with in-game goodies.
The Bungie team delayed the release of The Final Shape with promises of content coming to lead us into its release. We’re almost there, so the two month special season now has a date. We don’t know just yet what the update will consist of or how it will play out as we head towards the very consequential expansion on the way. The Destiny 2 team will begin telling us more soon though.
The team will host three livestreams to showcase the new content, with the first starting on March 19th, with the other two on subsequent Wednesdays - March 26th and April 2nd. One week later, everyone will get the chance to experience Into the Light for themselves. To prepare for the update, there will also be new Twitch Drops that will allow you to earn two new emblems by tuning into the streams.
Destiny 2 isn’t stopping there. Fresh off a Mass Effect collaboration, the next collaboration is on the way. March 19th is also when this one drops, and it is a Ghostbusters collection to mark the release of the new film, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which opens March 22nd. As part of the collaboration, you can get your hands on a Ghostbusters Firehouse accessory pack, and in that you get a Slimer Exotic Ghost Shell, a Garraka-inspired Exotic Sparrow, and an Ecto-1 themed Exotic ship. There will be Ghostbusters items from the Eververse for sale too, and there will be another bonus for those who buy something in-game.
