Destiny 2: Lightfall, the next expansion, will be out on Tuesday, February 28th, and there’s a brand new launch trailer to whet your appetite for the next chapter. Bungie has also announced free access to last year’s acclaimed The Witch Queen expansion.
The new launch trailer is here to give a peek at what’s next, and what the Witness has planned for the Traveler. The Traveler has nowhere else to run to, and the Guardians will need to be prepared to keep the enemy away and fight for what’s at stake. Lightfall will take up the next chapter of Destiny 2, and move things forward, with Bungie saying in a release, that it’s the “the penultimate chapter to the Light and Darkness saga”.
There will be more to come after Lightfall, based on that, but we’re on the verge of this next chapter, and the launch trailer sets things up without revealing too much. Of course, there will be content rolling out over time once the expansion is out.
If you missed it when it was released last year, The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2 will be available to play for free for the next few days. Access will be open until 9 AM PST on Monday, February 27th. If you don’t have the expansion unlocked you should find it ready to go on your already-installed game.
Playing through The Witch Queen expansion lets you access things from the campaign, the Vox Obscura mission, the Vow of the Disciple raid, and more. You’ll also get to keep any of the loot you earn during the open access period. The Witch Queen is an excellent expansion that added some real layers to Destiny 2, so it’s worth a playthrough even if you’re not going to take up Lightfall next week.
