Destiny 2 Getting Original Classic Destiny Raid King's Fall Today

Bungie is bringing back a classic Destiny raid, King’s Fall, to Destiny 2 today. So if you’ve never had the chance to experience heading into the Hive Dreadnought to face Onyx, the Taken King, now’s your shot. Destiny raids are big, so having a classic back is going to add to the fun for sure.

The raid will be free for all players, and will open in Contest mode for the first 24 hours. You’ll need at least 1560 Power to be ready for all of the encounters you’ll face as part of your fireteam. If you’re able to get in and clear it while Contest Mode is enabled, you’ll have the chance to access Challenge Mode in the Director and maybe get access to the secret Triumph. The secret Triumph is a special list of challenges that one team will be able to notch a World First victory and claim glory and loot.

Of course, if you’re not trying to be on top competitively, there’s still a deep dive to take into the ship and face Onyx. This classic raid will also have no bounty of crafting progress for the first weekend to count for demand on the servers. But if you’ve got the required Power and are ready to dive in (or dive back in), then the King’s Fall raid is now live as of 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET.

With the addition of a new raid that isn’t so new at all, it is one more piece of Destiny that has come to Destiny 2. It’s a big fall for the game, with this week’s announcement of the next expansion, Lightfall, for early 2023, so now’s the time for some additional action and fun while Bungie is on the road to bringing that new content to life.

For more on the raid, and all the events and competition that go along with a Destiny raid day, head over to Destiny 2.
