The Demons are finally coming. Prepare for The Invasion in Fractured Online. The second major update since Early Access will be released on May 8th.
The Invasion will finally bring the third race to the game, and for those who like to stir things up and the PvP lovers, your time to shine is coming.
In a new video overview announcing the major points of the update, Dynamite CEO Jacopo says that the first two types will be arriving: Blood Demons (Vampires) and Hellfire Demons (Infernals). Demons cannot have a good alignment, and will always be limited to neutral or evil alignment. They don't get protections that come with being good, but they also don't have to worry as much about their actions. Demons will have unique passive abilities as well as a unique active ability with a long cooldown, according to the introduction.
We get a look at a couple of examples in the video, including descriptions. Blood Demons “are among the most intelligent and cunning creatures in existence, who become especially deadly after drinking the blood of their enemies”. Hellfire Demons, “are Fierce warriors, generally oblivious of trickeries and battle tactics, who become even stronger over the course of a tough battle”.
One thing to note is the Demon home planet has been delayed until after full launch, in order to let the team focus on polish, new endgame content, and improvements before months of work on a whole new continent. If you create a Demon, you’ll start on the Human planet for now.
The update will also improve the Primal forms of Beastmen and base values for the Humans, and add the VIP subscription perks, shop, and gold exchange. Founders packs with VIP perks and Dynamight tokens will be usable. Expect things like armor recoloring and mount skins as part of the cosmetic options.
With tokens, you will also be able to pay for VIP subscriptions, which include perks like boosted drop rates, more bank slots, increased storage, and longer marketplace listings. The gold exchange will let you trade in-game currency for premium currency.
Finally, expect some new gold sinks and additional features, like buying inventory slots, item repair, and item recycling. Not only are these valuable and useful, They're all for gold that you can earn in game, making gold both more important and finding ways to get it out of the economy.
