Defend Fort Forthinry From Zemouregal and Ancient Dragon Vorkath in RuneScape

RuneScape’s next quest is here, in the new Necromancy season challenge, Vorkath: Battle of Forthinry. Face down Zemouregal and the newly-awoken ancient dragon Vorkath in a multi-phase battle to defend Fort Forthinry.

“Upon the freezing shores of Ungael, Zemouregal has awoken the ancient dragon Vorkath - now he intends to use this new-found power to wipe your Fort clean off the map. This would allow the full might of his undead armies to crash into the realms of Misthalin and sow chaos! It is up to you to stop him - with the help of denizens of Fort Forinthry…”

You’ll have to prepare for the fight ahead in the quest alongside the Raptor. Since you probably don’t want the undead to overtake everything, prepare to take on the defense of Fort Forthinry from the bosses as a solo challenge or as part of a team. If you manage to get through to the other side and take the bosses down, you’ll walk away with a number of possible rewards, including Elite Dracolich gear.

In addition to the Battle of Forthinry, there’s a new Vorkath Hunt event. Here, you’ll complete tasks for the draconic professor Mr Mordaut, and collect shards to get yourself the Vorkath Death Guard and Lantern overrides, and a few useful buffs. You can use those buffs after you've completed the hunt for 14 days. Once you earn them, the 14-day timer starts counting down.

There are various ways to collect shards, and you don't actually have to hunt the dragon in order to complete the hunt event, but you could. Some of the ways you earn shards include training your Gathering, Combat, Artisan, and Support skills, earning marks of war, having an active Premier membership and logging in, and yeah, killing the new bosses. That challenge is repeatable, so you could earn all your shards that way if you’d like.

You can find out full details on the latest update and the brand new quest over at RuneScape.
