A gunslinger straight from America, Black Desert Online’s newest character, Deadeye, was unveiled last night during a 10th anniversary celebration stream with a lengthy trailer.
The trailer starts with a live-action “Deadeye” taking on a job in a city in Black Desert. The game shifts to game cinematics as she starts seeking out a man named “Marni,” whose creations and goons wreak havoc—but Deadeye uses some of his works herself. Throughout, Deadeye uses explosions and gunplay to shake everyone off her back until it’s revealed that she’s been teleported literally from America to Black Desert, and now, she believes she has a lead on her brother.
Plus, when the trailer aired in the “Festa” stream, right after, there was a performance of what appears to be the theme of the character called “Dusty Light.” (It’s giving 2013 esports phoned-home vibes from the band.)
Further in the stream, they unveil some of her abilities that were already teased recently, including her three weapon types: her pistol, a shotgun, and what’s basically a mini rocket launcher. She has regular ammunition and Marni rounds, which explode, giving her flexibility for combat types. In the combat showcase, they also show her using the rocket launcher to jump higher into the air, among other nifty mobility tricks.
The unveiling is part of the 10th anniversary celebration for BDO, including the “Festa: A Decade of Adventures” stream that went over future changes for the game.
