Dead by Daylight is turning to another iconic franchise for its next collaboration: Castlevania. Trevor Belmont will represent the Belmont bloodline. Of course, you can’t forget Dracula. Both Dracula and Trevor Belmont enter The Fog in this update as a versatile new Killer and formidable Survivor.
The Dead by Daylight: Castlevania collaboration initially becomes available via the Steam test build today and officially releases on August 27th. The Castlevania fans on the team have crafted this collaboration to include a couple of firsts. Dracula is the first shapeshifting Killer and the team wanted to reflect his threat as well as call back to classic appearances.
Creative director Dave Richard, in a press release, says, “We wanted to create a fluidity in the way players can have Dracula change between his different forms and have it feel seamless”. The Dark Lord can appear as a vampire that stalks his prey, in addition to conjuring flames with the Hellfire spell that could turn any opposition to ash. Dracula as a bat gets stealthy, with Undetectable status, and the ability to gain ground. Dracula as a wolf comes with a lot of hunting skill and strength, including advantages for tracking. He can also charge up and use a Pounce attack.
You can't rule out Trevor Belmont, even with Dracula’s flexibility. Trevor, first introduced in Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, is a Survivor. He makes a very skilled Survivor since not only is he good at finding allies and using teamwork to succeed, he's also a vampire hunter. Among his perks include Eyes of Belmont, which lets you reveal the Killer’s aura for 1-3 seconds. Exultation will help you if you manage to stun the Killer with a pallet, upgrading your held item Rarity and recharging some of the item's charges.
The update’s patch notes are available since it's out now on the Steam test build if you want to get a jump on Dead by Daylight: Castlevania early.
