The latest DC Universe Online Producer’s Letter shares a look at more of what’s to come, from the next Light and Rain chapter to an expansion of the Artifacts system.
In this letter, Executive producer Andre Emerson mentions some of what the team has done since the last letter came out at the end of December, including releasing the 64-bit client, the new event system, the introduction of cross-faction leagues, annual campaign events, and tweaks to Renown.
As for what's next, Artifacts are getting an overhaul. Details will come but the first thing we know is everyone will get two additional artifacts slots for a total of five. DCUO is also going to enhance the role of Allies in battle, including having them stick around for longer and fight by your side. And now that we have cross faction leagues, they're looking into cross-faction grouping. Other mechanics are also getting overhauled, including brokers, knockout/revive, and even battlefield collision improvements are coming.
One feature they've already added this week is private matches. Now you can choose to start an instance immediately with just the members of your groupWithout having to go through the matchmaking process and also not having to meet the minimum group size requirements for things like Duos or raids. So, now if you want to try soloing a duo, you can do that.
Light and Rain chapter 2 will be out sometime in late May and take us to Mogo. The team has begun sharing story blogs to set things up.
