DC Universe Online has a new mystery story to lead into 2025's Story Arc format and offers some year-end bonuses.
The new story, “ A Deadly New Mystery”, was shared recently, and it opens up with Jim Gordon surveying damage to the city after recent chaos. He’s also pondering evidence of a potential serial killer. Where there’s Gordon, there’s Batman. Indeed, Batman steps forth from the shadows and begins working with Gordon and discussing the potential serial killer. They discuss potential suspects and evidence and maybe calling in some additional help from some of the Justice League.

It is a mystery, however, and it looks to be setting up next year’s new update format, Story Arcs. In this month’s Producer’s Letter, we got the info that Episodes were ending, and the DCUO team was looking to work with longer narratives that weren’t so self-contained. Reflecting a story continuing through multiple issues of a comic, we are getting Story Arcs with chapters.
Executive Producer Andre Emerson teased, “DCUO’s next Story Arc will be the darkest yet in a 4-PART mystery adventure starting with Chapter 1 in late January”. A mysterious serial killer story unfolding over time does fit the bill.
As for what to do while we wait, starting today, DCUO is offering double Source Marks from completing instanced or mission content from Episode 38, Wonderverse. The bonuses will last through January 6th, 2025, giving you a week to earn extra bonuses and get marks that you can use to exchange for rewards.
