And it's finally going into "beta"! Yes, DayZ, the game that pretty much started the whole survival game craze, is celebrating 4 million copies sold since it hit Early Access way back in 2013.
This notch in their belt was reached a week after the game launched its PC beta update on Steam. The game has been out in early access since December of 2013, and reached the 3 million user mark in January of 2015. So while things have slowed, it's clear that the pulse is still alive with the game and players are anxious to see how it's faring since game creator Dean Hall left to start his own company many moons ago.
The studio at Bohemia Interactive expects a 1.0 release before the end of the year.
