Dawn of Defiance has entered early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store, bringing its Greek mythology-inspired survival game to players.
The open-world survival game sees groups of up to four players take to a world covered in ruins, where wild beats and mythological creatures roam. You'll do many of the bog-standard things we expect to see in a survival crafting game: you'll build a settlement, craft armor and weapons to take on the dangers of the wilds, and upgrade your gear in order to tackle the trials Olympus throws your way.
Spared by Charon himself from the Underworld, you'll fight across various trials to uncover an insidious plot by the Gods themselves, of which you are a key piece to the puzzle.
We spoke to developer Traega Entertainment about Dawn of Defiance in a recent interview, seeking to unpack a bit of what makes it stand out in a crowded genre. The hope is its Greek myth-inspired setting, as well as its takes on progression - namely the ability to wield the power of the Gods themselves - will prove to be standout features.
