The Fortnite site has been updated with a look at the big changes in store for the game after the application of the latest patch to the game. To pave the way for the new content, all profile data has been wiped due to significant changes made to the game. The team is hoping that players will be ready to try out a new class or build as a result.
Of major significance, players can expect to see lots of changes:
- to the Abilities System which has been completely overhauled for Constructors, Ninjas, Commandos and Outlanders
- to the home base with the addition of the Drone Manufactory that gives players the ability to call in a supply drop at crucial times
- to the Join Game system which can now happen anywhere in the game
- to emotes including the new "dance" feature
- to global chat with the new ability to toggle it on or off at will; the new social panel that lets players know the on/offline status of friends
- to the home base that includes more visual clarity, ease of use and great new animations
The team also went through just about every other aspect of the game performing tweaks and bug fixes to improve game play significantly.
You can see all of the changes during a special Fortnite Live Stream event today at 4:00 pm Eastern / 1:00 pm Pacific. Join the Fortnite Twitch.tv channel at that time to check it out for yourself.
