Set to release on September 26th, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty gets a brand new cinematic trailer featuring actor Idris Elba, along with a behind the scenes look with the actor, and new music to enjoy.
The trailer is set seven years before the events of the expansion. In Project Liberty, Elba plays Solomon Reed, a secret agent. While things start out rather calmly in the new trailer, they don’t stay that way. Shouldn’t be a surprise, since it’s not like much goes smoothly in the world that CD Projekt Red has created. Later, we are brought to the present.
CDPR released a new episode of Night City Wire, where the team revealed that the free 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 would be released on September 21st. That update will introduce updated perks, overhaul the police system, add enhanced cyberware, and more content for those who play on PC and current-gen consoles.
They also took the time to reveal the new trailer and videos and to detail more about the expansion, including on character builds, the new perk and skill trees, and the brand new Relic skill tree that will arrive with the expansion.
To help with planning, the team even released a new Cyberpunk 2077 Build Planner, which is a browser-based tool for planning your own build possibilities ahead of time. This will also let you get a good look and feel for the changes that the team has made to the park system, and the new skill tree.
The expansion’s composers also joined to reveal that the new soundtrack is currently available on streaming platforms, and the composers explained how they created new music for the spy thriller. There are also new radio stations in the game, and one of the playlists is called Growl FM. All of the tracks on that playlist were submitted by the community into a special music competition. On September 18th, CDPR will release a documentary on how that radio station came together.
