Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix Addresses Epilepsy Triggers and More

Plus some other bugs

CD Projekt RED has issued hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC and PS4 addressing epilepsy triggers and more.

If you recall, these epilepsy triggers were pointed out by Game Informer earlier this week, specifically in the braindance segments. CDPR even responded they’d include a separate warning and work on a more permanent solution. On the PC launch version, this separate warning existed on Day One.

However, this recent hotfix goes further to address these triggers:

  • Modified the flashing effect on braindances to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms. The effect has been smoothed out and the flashes reduced in frequency and magnitude.

Liana Ruppert of Game Informer, author of the original trigger article, responded in kind. She explained that she had spoken with CDPR since her original article in addition to the Epilepsy of Foundation regarding a fix. In her now updated article, she writes,

“This is a huge win for both the industry and gamers because these changes to make games safer don't have to mean that total removal like many assume. This is work I've been doing for years and to see studios respond productively and kindly means the absolute world.”

Elsewhere, this hotfix addresses quests, some performance including crash fixes, in addition to PC-specific and console-specific fixes and improvements.
