In apparent response to Epic's release of the Unreal Engine 4 source code for a $19 per month subscription fee, Crytek has announced the release of the CryEngine source code. Calling it "Engine-As-A-Service", Crytek will charge developers $10 per month and will not require users to pay a royalty fee to Crytek. Currently, Epic will collect 5% of gross revenue from users.
