Crucible, Amazon's F2P Shooter, Releases Today on Steam

Amazon’s F2P shooter Crucible is set to release today on Steam.

As a quick refresher, Crucible is the F2P shooter from Amazon Game Studios described as a “free-to-play team-based action shooter where your gameplay is defined by the choices you make.”

You pick one of 10 Hunters, each with their own abilities. You can upgrade these abilities as you hunt for a resource called Essence. The game also sports several different modes called Heart of the Hives, Harvester Command, and Alpha Hunters.

Heart of the Hives includes two teams of four players fighting against hives spawning across the map. The goal is to capture the heart of the hives, with three captures seeing victory. Harvest Command pits two teams of eight players in a game of capture points. Capture and hold certain points for Essence. Alpha Hunters is basically just two teams of eight in a straight up fight.

Despite an earlier hiccup where the Steam page indicated, “Coming Soon,” that seems to now be resolved as the game appears to now be available. You can grab the game on Steam here. You can check out the launch trailer for the game below:
