Cross Platform Save Is Open to All Warframe Players - But Only Till The End Of The Day

Comes Back January

In one last hurrah before the holiday break, Digital Extremes is opening up its cross platform save functionality for all Warframe players - with a catch. It'll only be available till 5 pm Eastern time today - then it closes until January.

Cross platform save has been rolling out in waves this month for Warframe, allowing players to unify their accounts and keep playing their favorite Tenno across platforms. However, the feature isn't fully rolled out to everyone as the Digital Extremes team is mitigating the load and potential issues that could wreak havoc on their servers if they just opened the floodgates.

Today, though, according to DE's Megan Everett, the floodgates will open for a limited time. On the official forums, Megan mentions that cross platform save will be open to "ALL Tenno" starting this morning at 8 am Eastern/5 am Pacific and running until 5 pm Eastern/2 pm Pacific, giving anyone who wants a chance to get their accounts set up with the feature. From then on, though, those gates will be firmly shut until next month.

The main reason for this is simply down to the holidays and, again, mitigating risk to their database.

"We recognize that some Tenno may have to wait to experience Cross Platform Save until 2024, and for that, we apologize. In full transparency, we cannot risk the game's and database's stability over the holiday break by leaving Cross Platform Save enabled for all. The database surges we already see are manageable, but we do not want to risk the unknown of leaving it enabled while no hands are around for immediate emergencies. "

To initiate the process, simply log into your Warframe account on the website and head to the Account Management page. It's pretty painless - I just merged my console accounts with my PC account and it took no time at all - so make sure you do so before time runs out today and while you're there, maybe dive into Whispers in the Walls, the latest expansion which released last week.
