The WildStar site has been updated with a new deep dive article that lets players know that crafting will be meaningful, robust, and simplified when the game goes free to play later this month.
As before, crafting will be reliant on stats and will align with overall itemization changes being made to general character stats. Each stat is, in turn, tied to one of the game's six elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Life and Logic.
For example, Critical Hit is a Fire stat, and Armor is an Earth stat. Circuit Board Sockets have also been connected to WildStar’s six elements. When you start a craft, all your stat sockets will have random elemental types. If you see a Fire socket you’ll be able to choose Critical Hit without penalty.
