The cozy casual sim Spellfarers was released into Early Access.
The latest in the current wave of Cozy MMOs to enter Early Access, Spellfarers brings all the typical trappings of the genre: farming, homesteading, fishing and more. The world within the MMO is quite warm and fuzzy rather than high-stakes and unforgiving, allowing players to take on the life of a witch who is attempting to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of a well-known researcher from the village. Utilizing spells and our trusty Familiar companion, we will not only explore the world around us within the Wilds but we will learn new spells that can aid us in finding the missing witch.
The announcement of the title releasing into early access came as a bit of a shock, as some players had not even heard of the magical adventure prior to the announcement of early access. While there is no official ending date set for its full 1.0 release, the FAQ on the official Spellfarers website looks to be aiming for a 2025 release. It’s free-to-play on Steam right now, and according to that same FAQ, it doesn’t look like the pricing model will be changing in the future.
