Corepunk’s planned progress wipe is being delayed a week to September 23 as the team is still wrapping up work on a combat overhaul that has been in development over the past two months.
The aim for the rework is to deliver players a combat system that is more responsive and offers players a tactile feel. This undertaking has involved rebuilding the entirety of the game’s hero abilities, mobs, and event calculations.
In addition, the team has also been working on major revamps to Corepunk’s quest system, with changes made largely due to player feedback in order to improve quest objectives, storylines, and rewards. The end goal here is for players to have a smoother leveling experience as they progress through the game.
The Steppes, a new level 20 zone, will also be added, offering players a new biome to explore, monsters and boss fights to fight, and resources for crafting.
Later on, the team will implement a new PvP/PvE mode with full loot and the likely result that players will bring lower tier or lower grade items into the mode, creating a new secondary market for those items and improving the game’s overall economy.
