Corepunk Team Discusses Monster Camps in Latest Update

Risk-reward is key, as is player skill

The latest information dump from the Corepunk team revolves around monster camps. Here are the details.

If you’re unfamiliar with Corepunk, it’s described as a top-down isometric RPG which is “part cyberpunk, part Diablo, part Ultima Online.” You can catch the trailer below:

Regarding the monster camps, this will be littered throughout the game, with some appearing at specific locations, and others will be simply roaming the world. The camps themselves will have different degrees of difficulty.

The team notes that monsters in general won’t necessarily have more than one skill at their disposal. While this sounds easy, you’ll still need to be skilled to defeat them and grab their loot. Some camps may have a leader, and these monsters can actually work together as you face off.

For example, one such camp may have archers and tanks,

“While you try to handle the archers, tanks will regularly try to catch you in their net and assassins will never miss a chance to attack, especially when you’re most vulnerable. The moment you're trapped in a net or stunned, they'll attack, dealing significant damage.”

This will necessitate you to think ahead and plan your approach to these camps instead of simply rushing in. But, as is the case in video games, the greater the risk you take, the greater the reward. You can catch the full post here.
