The developers of Conan Exiles took a deep dive into all of the purges and fatalities players can exepct from Conan Exiles: Age of War Chapter IV.

Today, a blog post went live with the nitty gritty for Conan Exiles: Age of War Chapter IV, and there are some interesting details released that fans are sure to get excited about. Kicking things off were the Fatalities, and for anyone who enjoys the gruesome and gory, it will be found within Chapter Four according to the devs. Inspired by Fatalities found within Age of Conan, Funcom’s MMO set in the same universe, Exiles will be able to take out human NPCs using these brutal - though random - finishers.

Each melee-type weapon in the game comes with its own signature kill move, which can be triggered by performing a starting attack on the enemy while they are dazed from a kill shot. Players who successfully complete the attack will receive a damage buff and a little boost of health and stamina to get them by.

Another exciting addition in the Age of War Chapter IV update is the expansion of Purges, first introduced in Chapter two. This time, players will face a new defensive ballista and a diverse array of enemies to conquer. The strategic element is heightened by introducing Thieves, Golems, Sorcerers, Stygian Champions, and the Ballista itself, each posing unique challenges that players must overcome.

In addition to the huge gameplay boosts, the new chapter will also feature a few quality-of-life changes, including the inventory and followers. The update also overhauls Battle Pass progression, as the developers noticed that it often leads players down a certain path they may not enjoy.

The new system has been lowered to only have three Challenges to complete, and basically anything that gives experience points, such as crafting, gathering and killing enemies, will also award progression. Rather than being forced one way or another, such as having to take down monsters or having to craft items, players can now enjoy a more diverse way to earn Battle Pass progression in its entirety. More so, they added a small pop-up for every level reached during progress so players could keep track without having to open the menu.
