The RuneScape team is reintroducing a chance to get the Assassin’s Walk animation this week, along with feedback on maintenance in response to community feedback, and a series of general fixes.
This week's update is focused on fixes and some fun. The Assassin’s Return and a series of related gear can be yours if you complete some contracts to get your hands on these items. You'll have to pick a monster and kill them instantly for your first Assassin-themed reward, then you'll get a contract to beat additional monsters. Complete the contract and receive an Assassin Chest with a chance to drop cosmetics, 5 million GP, or the walk animation.
Oh, and you may also encounter the Assassin as a very rare monster spawn. If you find one and claim victory, you’ll get the walk emote as a guaranteed drop.
When it comes to maintenance, the team is working out how to start a recurring maintenance window to check up on the game and make sure everything works at a time where the community is well informed in advance.
“Following your feedback from last week's deployment, we are still working on when, how often and for how long maintenance work will take place on the final schedule. As soon as we have that information, we'll let you know all the details.”
The next scheduled maintenance downtime is set for August 3rd, at a time to be announced next week.
The week's update is focused on fixes, including repairing some necessary requirements for the Zamorak Insane Final boss unlock, adding some missing information, fixing broken emotes in the Spirit of Summer quest, putting gear where it's supposed to be, and a series of other fixes to help RuneScape run as intended.
