The Legends of Aria site has been updated with a brand new series of articles to keep fans and players of the game informed about what the team is working on as the days to the April 28th Alpha launch draw to a close. The first letter begins with a brief development history of the project and how it has arrived in its current form.

From there, it delves into what the team has been working on most recently.

  • More intuitive combat - redesigned skills, reworked and simplified item properties, the addition of universal rates of health and stamina regeneration, simplified hit chances
  • Overhauled magical spells and combat abilities
  • Chance-based system of skill gain
  • Removed skill dependencies -- each now stands on its own
  • Overhauled combat UI

The Prestige System is also described in some detail as a way to give players true freedom of customization for their characters:

Legends of Aria will feature a new system we call the Prestige System. Characters may choose to adopt a Prestige Title at the cost of 200 general skill points, affording them access to specific abilities which, paired with the freedom of their character’s skill choices, creates a wealth of options to create powerful and diverse combatants.

Adopting a Prestige Title imposes no artificial boundaries or privileges to your character and has no effect on a character’s stats, skills or core abilities in any way. Instead, Prestige abilities bring an additional dynamic of combat utility, giving players additional tools to specialise their characters to further develop their chosen playstyle.
