Tower of Fantasy’s latest update, Gesthos Sector, is now live on all platforms, bringing with it new story chapters, a new zone to explore, and of course, a new simulacrum. We’ve already been introduced to Roslyn via her lore trailer, but now she gets an expanded combat showcase for her and her weapon, Calm Waters.
Roslyn wields Calm Waters, a Frost/Volt weapon, by strategically using her discharge skill, Bitter Strike, on the field. When she uses it, she activates a bitter cold state for 14 seconds. When she does this, normal attacks, dodge attacks, and skills trigger varying stacks of chilling strike on the target. If she also hits those targets with normal attacks, she’ll recover some health.
When she has unleashed 100 stacks of Chilling Strike on an enemy, they are icebound for 4 seconds. If she follows this up with dodge attacks that hit the icebound target, she breaks that ice and deals extra damage. Her weapon skill, Frostlink Aura, is also key to victory. She gains hyperbody for 20 seconds, and during that time, the target is inflicted with Flashfreeze for 15 seconds, reducing their attack, and helping Roslyn and her allies survive.
Bringing it all together is the way using her weapon skill can also inflict up to 52 stacks of Chilling Strike on enemies, also bringing in the icebound effect quickly.
Roslyn is going to offer a fairly straightforward style that could be a good option for a wide range of players, and also be able to be tailored for good on-field damage and more strategic combos as you upgrade and continue to get the hang of her kit.
This is the first simulacrum from Gesthos Sector, and looks like a solid way to introduce the next chapter of Tower of Fantasy.
