The highly anticipated return of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's co-op mod, Skyrim Together Reborn, has seen some rabid success. According to NexusMods, as of this writing, the mod has been downloaded over 100K times since launching last Friday.
Releasing officially last Friday, players flocked to NexusMods over the weekend to finally take Skyrim co-op, despite Skyrim being a playable location in The Elder Scrolls Online for years now. However, the allure of linking up with fellow Dovahkiins and traveling the frozen tundra of the Nord homeland is a powerful draw, and the mod makers took to Reddit to share the story of their success, as well as what's next.
However, some players were left on the outside looking in as some servers didn't work as intended, though a hotfix is incoming.
However, for those looking for quick updates and additions to the mod, the team is basically leaving that up to the community, stating that they are moving on to new endeavors.
"We are excited about the future of Reborn. With thousands of man hours of work put into the project already, we have done most of the heavy lifting for you. With the mod going open source, it is now up to you, the community, to step up, and further develop Reborn."
The post goes on stating the dev team is "very tired" and needs a break to work on other projects. However, "all the tools" are in the community's hands to install and get Reborn up and running. The team also states the mod is going open source, meaning we could see community improvements and more down the road.
