CHUWI Counts Down to 2-in-1 UBook Pro, Releases Details

This story was written by Damien Gula.

Following their successful crowdfunded efforts for an affordable two-in-one PC, China-based tech company CHUWI teases preorders for the UBook Pro. Here is what we know about the specifications so far.

The UBook Pro will update its CPU to a dual-core, four thread 3.4GHz Intel Core m3-8100Y equipped with Intel’s UHD Graphics 615 integrated GPU. CHUWI ditched the eMMC storage in favor of a 256BG M.2 SSD solution and will have a TF Card clot for expansion. As for system memory, this device will come with 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

The UBook Pro’s display is also getting enhancement, thanks to the new 12.3 inch FHD IPS fully laminated screen. This screen’s aspect ratio has been changed to match the 3:2 ratio used in the Surface Pro, among others, sighting the as the “golden ratio for productivity.” The touch screen is also seeing a bump in stylus pressure sensitivity from 1024 to 2048.

The UBook Pro will come with Windows 10 install and is equipped with a full-featured USB-C port along with two USB-A 3.0 ports, Micro HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
