The time shifting game Chrono Odyssey by Chrono Studio and published by Kakao Games has recently released a producer’s letter that gives some, but not much, insight into the state of the game. Producer Yun Sang Tae has taken to the official Chrono Odyssey steam page and dropped a message reassuring fans that the game is speedily making its way to the finish line.
Chrono Odyssey has piqued the curiosity of many gamers due to its cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5 visuals and unique premise that will see players time-hopping or stopping time entirely as they sally forth on their adventure. The team has recently completed a short combat playtest and revamped their website, and now, in their latest letter, Yun Sang Tae has trickled a little information about what’s to come.
“Our development team has dedicated countless hours to perfecting Chrono Odyssey. As a result, many parts of the game have been developed, and we are steadily approaching completion. Nonetheless, our commitment to refining Chrono Odyssey remains steadfast up to its final release. As an avid gamer myself, I understand the challenge of waiting for a game's release, but please bear with us a little longer!”-Yun Sang Tae, Producer, Chrono Odyssey
The full message also states that everything players have seen in their recent trailer will come to pass, and their ongoing refinement of the system will result in an enhanced version that the team hopes players will find engaging. The message is more reassuring than informative, however, as there are no specifics listed as to where players will see enhancements, when the next test will happen, or even a general acknowledgement that there’s a target date for Chrono Odyssey.
Hopefully this is just a prelude to a deluge of information set to release on the game as we approach the end of the year, where studios routinely drop teasers detailing expectations for the foreseeable future. Until then, we’re all still waiting on this next action-combat MMO to let us in to show us what it means to be a “Chronotector”.
