China's General Administration of Press & Publication (GAPP) declared on Saturday that foreign investments in online gaming, whether it be through joint ventures or wholly owned enterprises would no longer be allowed.
GAPP is only one of several regulators, however, as the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry for Industry and Information Technology also have a say in the matter, which is why analysts are saying that this isn't necessarily the death knell for games like World of Warcraft in China.
