There is a changing of the guard on the Trove team. In a new producer's letter, Andrew "Avarem" Krausnick has announced that he is leaving Trion to pursue a new job with a small studio. He calls it "getting back to basics" that will allow him to work on smaller, more experimental projects. Rick "Din Othar" White will be taking over from Krausnick and has revealed some of his vision for Trove.

White announced that a big new patch will be coming to Trove for consoles, calling it a "world changing game update". Once the Megalithic Update is deployed, console versions of the game will be brought up to the same spot as the PC version. It contains the Dino Tamer class, dino-themed biomes, class crafting and much more.

After that, players can expect to see some changes coming to the Shadow Tower and its inhabitants. The Daughter of the Moon will be present and summoning...who knows what?

Here’s a look at just some of the content we will deliver in 2017:

  • The ability to unlock and designate a sub-class to gain new unique abilities on your active class
  • Long awaited enhancements to clubs including club levels, member ranks, and tiered rewards
  • A massive increase to the Mastery Rank cap and the prizes earned for gaining Mastery
  • …and Plasma Fishing. Yes, you read that correctly, Plasma Fishing!
