Cyberpunk 2077 developers CD Projekt RED have responded to a story going around discussing the state of the game by saying, “this story is simply not true.”

The story circulating on Reddit originates from a GameSpot GameFAQ thread in which a developer allegedly spoke in detail about the state of the game, and the future plans for it. The now-debunked developer discussed missing features, the schedule for bug fixes, and much more.

However, CD Projekt RED shut this down on Twitter by stating,

“Normally we don't comment on rumors but this time we wanted to make an exception as this story is simply not true.”

Cyberpunk 2077 and its developer CD Projekt RED have been under intense scrutiny before and after launch. The most recent chapter in the saga includes a lawsuit filed on behalf of investors to which CDPR replied that they’d commit to vigorous action to defend themselves.
