CCP Games is at it again, this time teaming up with Sperasoft, in order to create an online shooter set within the EVE universe. The yet-to-be-unveiled game isn't CCP's first forary into shooters, as the team was working on one as recently as 2018.

CCP Games and Sperasoft made the announcement this morning via a press release, revealing that another shooter set in the EVE universe was on the horizon. Via the press release:

“We’re delighted to be working with Sperasoft on our unannounced online shooter set in the EVE IP,” said Allen Edwards, Game Director at CCP Games’ London studio. “Together, we’re looking forward to delivering a rock-solid, action-oriented gameplay experience with stunningly beautiful worlds.”

Sperasoft is a studio specializing in co-development, having worked on games such as Assassin's Creed ValhallaMortal Kombat, as well as worked with MMO compnaies such as Trion Worlds, Sony Online Entertainment and more.

The press release mentions that more will be announced in the "not-too-distant" future, so fans eager to see what the studios have up their sleeve might not have long to wait. Fans will also remember CCP's last foray into shooters, Project Nova, which acted as a successor to Dust 514. CCP showcased Project Nova to the public at EVE Vegas 2018. CCP confirmed earlier this year that the game was in fact canceled. It'll be interesting to see what arises from this relationship and whether the upcoming shooter can overtake the feelings in fans after Nova's demise.
