Can I Have Your Stuff? Yes!

An especially interesting development has been announced for IGG's Tales of Pirates today; answering the age-old question many players pose to those announcing they are leaving a particular game: "Can I have your stuff?!" With the announcement of the Hosting & Heir system for Tales of Pirates, the answer is a resounding, "Yes!"

This new feature is still being considered, but should it come to fruition players will be able to apply for a "hosting" service which will guarantee that their characters and their in-game items will be preserved in the game's database.

The Heir system, which is where this really gets interesting, allows players to appoint an heir to their account. If the original owner of the account does not log in to the game for a set period of time, the account will then automatically be transferred to the appointed heir. IGG also states that the heir need not be a current Tales of Pirates player, but could even be a relative or friend as well.

For more information on Tales of Pirates visit the game's official website here.

What do you think about the Hosting & Heir system? Is it a good idea? Would you like a system like this in whatever current MMOG you are playing? Let us know in the comments below!
