A tweet by the official Call of Duty Twitter has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release November 13th. The tweet includes a 2-minute trailer, that announces open beta early access for PS4 preorders.
In a separate post on Xbox.com a detailed explanation of what Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, actually is, including the setting and a light story setup. So far, the title will be cross-generation, allowing players who pick it up on Xbox One or Playstation 4, to also play on the next generation consoles, and all of their progress will carry over as well.

Black Ops Cold War will also extend the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone experience, with a new progression journey that will be shared with Warzone. Inventory items will can be earned and will be usable in both titles. A breakdown of the different Xbox versions was also provided, see below:
- Pre-order digitally for early access to the open betaand the Woods Operator bundle.
- Digital Standard Edition ($59.99 USD MSRP):Includes the game on Xbox One. Players can upgrade to the Cross-Gen Edition which includes the Xbox Series X version of the game after launch for an additional $10.
- Digital Cross-GenEdition($69.99 USD MSRP): Includes both Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions of the game through a dual-license tied to your console account.
- The Digital Ultimate Edition ($89.99 USD MSRP):Includes both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions of the game, the “Land, Sea, and Air Pack”, and the Battle Pass Bundle (Includes 20 immediately activated Tier Skips) to purchase a Battle Pass for any Season of Black Ops Cold War. Purchase the Ultimate Digital Edition from the Modern Warfare or Warzone Storegrants players 10 tier skips that immediately advances your current Battle Pass system progress 10 tiers. The “Land, Sea, and Air Pack” contains three Operator skins, three vehicle skins, and three developer crafted weapon blueprints, one of each that represents the main mediums of warfare.
Battle Passes will also be available. Battle pass bundles offer free, earnable weapons, skins, Call of Duty points, and more. While open beta will be available on all consoles, it will release first on Playstation.
