Widespread derision from the Destiny 2 community over the contents of a new $15 Starter Pack has led Bungie to remove the pack from the Steam store.
The Starter Pack included Exotic items such as the Traveler's Chosen sidearm, Ruinous Effigy trace rifle, and Sleeper Stimulant linear fusion rifle. All items easy enough for playes to acquire in-game. Additionally, the pack granted a cosmetic Sparrow hoverbike and ship, a nigh worthless Exotic Ghost shell, and a variety of currencies, including 125,000 in Glimmer.
The items are all easy to acquire in-game and none of them are worth paying for regardless. Some of the Exotics on offer have been nerfed to oblivion and others such as the Sleeper Stimulant isn't worth using at all without a catalyst players can only unlock through gameplay, anyways.
Thankfully, it appears Bungie has heard the community loud and clear. A statement shared to Twitter informed the community of the studio's decision to remove the pack from the store:
Hey everyone, we launched Season of the Wish yesterday and have been monitoring the conversation around what you’ve been enjoying and what you haven’t. We’ll start things off with the Starter Pack, which is not something bringing joy.Which is why we’ve pulled it from stores.

This news follows the recent launch of Destiny 2's Season of the Wish, taking things back to the Forsaken era, and a delay of The Final Shape, the game's next expansion, to June.
