Destiny 2 developer Bungie is expanding with a new international office arriving in 2022, and word of a new IP.
Ground was broken for its expansion of its HQ in January which should be complete by Fall 2022. Additionally, 2022 will see an Amsterdam office opened to house the publishing and marketing divisions. But perhaps the biggest news in this release pertains to the expansion of the Destiny universe and Bungie's portfolio.
It was announced that Mark Noseworthy (Vice President, Destiny Universe) and Luke Smith (Executive Creative Director, Destiny Universe have both been appointed to oversee this expansion, “into additional media.” We’re not sure what this media entails at this point.
There was also mention of new IP with the appointments of Jonny Ebbert (Chief Creative Officer) and Zach Russell (General Manager, Incubation) with plans to bring, “at least one new IP to market before 2025.”
It seems Bungie isn’t slowing down any time soon.
