There's a new update for Broken Ranks, with a new endgame instance, along with an introductory quest, and part one of the promised gear overhaul.
Whitemoon Games has been adding content for characters of all level ranges, with particular emphasis on lower and mid-level characters because they wanted to strengthen some of the content offerings. However, now it's time for endgame to get a little bit of attention, with a brand new instance for characters level 135 and up.
But first, there's an intro quest, “The Winged Lady” that precedes this instance where you can help a history scholar who is looking for answers. The scholar studies Vorling history, and by helping him, you’ll also uncover some mysterious ancient secrets and even an artifact that will guide you forward to a new enemy: Sidraga, the Winged Lady herself.
By taking on this challenge, you'll be able to get five legendary pieces of gear by defeating Sidraga. The main boss you'll face, but since it is an endgame challenge, there's more to it.
The devs are even playful in seeing how the community handles this latest challenge. Studio founder Krzysztof Danilewicz says, in a release:
“The endgame of an MMORPG should be a tough nut to crack. Cooperation that requires planning, puzzles, powerful opponents - that’s what Sidraga’s instance is all about” and they have a betting pool on how long it will take for the first completions.
One of the other major features of this update is the first part of the gear overhaul. This means the previously-announced system using modifiers called drifs is live. These drifs are a way to enhance your gear, and you'll be able to combine them into more powerful versions, along with other aspects of the system that let you extract them and put them into different pieces of gear.

Also in the update is a new level 66+ sidequest, and later this week, the second Bunny Marathon will start.
