Book of Travels has a new update, adding new quests, help for NPC ghosts, new visual updates, fixes, and even more edible bugs. The changes come as developer Might and Delight updates on their upcoming localization and new server regions.
Today’s update came with a note about upcoming extension plans, including a new EU server that will arrive “in the coming weeks”. The rest of their plans include other server regions and localization, but specifics on this are yet to be revealed.
This update adds three new rooms–a top floor to the Teahouse, and to the Smith’s house by the town square, and a new room in the Jade Urn. New bug catching and Talzyre questlines are here to complete. While the team did also fix a number of bugs in the patch, they’ve also added bugs of the other kind in-game: five new edible bugs. In addition to this, there are some UI and player experience changes, including new item icons and ambient sounds for those new rooms. The Kasa Cistern may also hold some surprises too.
A few experiences are now player-bound. These are Endeavour unlocks, which even while player bound, can still be done jointly if players interact at the same time. Sefra Shrines and Haunted Gravestones are also now player-bound, with one-time use every 30 minutes. There’s also a change to random endeavours like lockboxes, mechanical parts, and tangled plants, which means they will start a despawn when anyone engages with a 30-minute despawn timer.
“NPC ghosts now have proper ghost materials”, thankfully, and there are some additional visual changes, including a post profile for 4k monitors and new visuals, animation, and materials for gambling Sefra. Passage gets slight rule tweaks too, along with UI fixes.
