Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room have released a new blog update exploring the playstyle and abilities of one of Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’s four playable Clans: the Tremere.
The Tremere are known in Vampire: the Masquerade to be the wizards and warlocks of vampire society. They wield the power of Thaumaturgy, which allows them to manipulate their own blood as well as the blood of their foes. Described as a “ranged, glass-cannon type” in Bloodlines 2, the Tremere have access to the following abilities:
- Corrosive Touch: This is the Clan’s passive and makes bodies dissolve after enemies are killed.
- Cauldron of Blood: A classic Tremere ability. Players can boil the blood of their foes. Foes afflicting by Cauldron of Blood will drop to their knees and scream, drawing the attention of other nearby enemies.
- Recall: Players can use this to mark a location and then “explosively reconstruct” themselves at that location dealing damage to all enemies in the vicinity of the explosion.
- Blood Curse: Curse an enemy so that the next time they explode the next time they are dealt damage. Naturally, this also deals damage to enemies nearby.
- Blood Salvo: Literally throw daggers of blood at your enemies.
- Greed: This is the Tremere Clan perk. This gives the Tremere a chance to gain twice as much blood for their last used ability after feeding.
