A livestream covering Blue Protocol filled in new details about some of what we might expect from the game. Let the speculation begin on what the Western release might look like after this Japanese-specific stream preview.

The Bandai Namco stream was recapped and also subtitled into English, so some of the details that the team discussed might not extend to the global version of the game that Amazon Game Studios is set to publish or to other regions. Still, with more information finally coming out about the upcoming MMORPG, it's worth paying attention to see how things develop between now and  the eventual late 2023 Western release.

From the translated notes, the team has received more than 50,000 applications for the Japan Network test, and they have already held some debugging tests and small-group testing with 200 people before the stream.

We might expect to see fishing, swimming, camping, as well as development on all of these, and it seems that fishing will be an ongoing feature. For the Japanese server it looks to be one massive shared server with population caps in certain areas and little to no loading in zones. It remains to be seen whether this will transfer to the final game or if this is just for now, but for now, count this only for Japan.

The team said that monetization will include a season pass (free and paid) and a shop. The shop will feature cosmetics, mounts, and have other stuff like accessories and other items.  For those concerned over gacha elements, it is important that this is all about the Japanese release, and we might see some changes for the global launch, especially with Amazon on board. it’s possible that we can see something like the Lost Ark release here.

To find out much more and see the previews in action, watch the English subtitled stream above. Find out more about the game at Blue Protocol.
