With the Warcraft franchise turning 30 this year, Blizzard appears to be going all-out—and out of the game, too. Blizzard has announced its “Warcraft 30 World Tour” starting next month that promises to be an “intimate” gathering of Warcraft fans around the globe.
“Enjoy an evening of live entertainment, meet Warcraft developers, and experience unique activities,” the very brief announcement blog reads (and the description for the events lists similarly). There are no actual specifics on these activities yet.
These festivities are starting sooner than you think, with the first one just over a month away. The gathering will be as follows:
- February 22 — London, UK
- March 08 — Seoul, Korea
- March 15 — Toronto, Canada
- April 3 — Sydney, Australia
- April 19 — São Paulo, Brazil
- May 10 — Boston, US
The good news is that besides any means of actually getting to the event, these events will be free to anyone interested. The big catch is, of course, that they’ll be limited once they drop. (It’s also on Tixr, which is a platform that doesn’t seem to have any events of these scales on its books yet, so we’ll see how the ticket war goes.)
This live event seems to be doing some community outreach lifting where BlizzCon was lacking, as was the 30th anniversary announcement stream that took place a few months ago.
