Blizzard has released an update on the status of missing guild bank items in World of Warcraft, a problem that has plagued the game since the deployment of patch 11.0.2 in August.
The cause of the issue seems to be rooted in an update that was made to support the cross realm guilds. The bug in question affected the game’s maintenance processes and resulted in items disappearing, many of which included professions materials from previously released WoW expansions, but item losses were not limited to this.
Blizzard has been working over the past few weeks to pack up items they’ve been able to confirm as being lost due to the aforementioned bug and those items will soon be issued to the guild leaders of each guild affected by the issue.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that Blizzard has not been able to identify all of the items lost and expect that some guilds will receive incomplete restoration of items with no way of recovering whatever else is missing.
Unsurprisingly, this isn’t going over well over on reddit, with players being particularly upset not just at Blizzard’s inability to fully rectify the situation but the poor communication that has gone along with it.
