As promised, Blizzard released patch notes for Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn’s mid-season update ahead of its release this Monday.
The update includes a many balance updates and tweaks as expected, but the most surprising revelation in the notes was where Blizzard’s attention went.
Barbarians, who have multiple builds capable of pushing high tiers in The Pit, Diablo 4’s version of D3’s Greater Rifts, received a number of buffs. Flay, one of the most popular Barb builds, was included in the round of buffs. The community’s reception has ranged from confusion to outrage.
Still, there are significant boosts for Druid, Rogue melee and grenade abilities, Sorcerer passives and key passives. All classes have received buffs to their Unique items, which have generally fallen behind Legendary items this season due to the fact they are unable to be Tempered.
There are plenty of general changes for players to be excited about in the mid-season update, as well. Potion healing was boosted across the board, Mythic Uniques (aka Uber Uniques) were improved, Paragon board node activation requirements have been lowered, and both The Pit and Tormented bosses have had their health levels reduced.
Holy Bolt Elixir, which was bugged in favor of players, has been addressed, so players pushing higher tiers of The Pit likely won’t be able to rely on it as much to push further.
